Powergreen Showcases Renewable Energy at Project Qatar 2013
Powergreen exhibits cutting-edge renewable energy solutions at Project Qatar 2013, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable development.

Expanding Qatar’s Renewable Energy Landscape
Operating in Qatar’s renewable energy sector presents both challenges and opportunities. Since its launch in 2009, Powergreen (formerly Innovations Unlimited ME) has worked to establish itself in the market by delivering high-impact solar projects. Over the past year alone, the company secured major renewable energy contracts, further solidifying its leadership in sustainability.
Commitment to Qatar’s Sustainability Vision
According to Amr Belal, Managing Partner at Powergreen, Qatar holds unmatched potential in renewable energy leadership. The country, already known for its economic strength and global energy exports, is now positioning itself as a regional hub for clean energy innovation. With government backing and sustainability initiatives, Qatar is laying the foundation for a record-breaking renewable energy transition.
Key Solar Projects Underway
Powergreen is involved in several landmark projects, including:
- Msheireb Downtown Doha – Installation of 4,116 KIOTO photovoltaic panels generating 1MWp of clean energy, along with 280m² of solar water heating collectors.
- West Bay Solar Tower – Qatar’s first solar façade tower featuring thin-film BIPV and custom crystalline panels, designed to reduce heat gain and generate clean electricity.
- Kahramaa Awareness Park – A green benchmark project incorporating solar PV, solar thermal water heating, and wind turbines to promote sustainable living education.
- Passivhaus (Baytna) – Collaboration with Barwa and the Qatar Green Building Council, where Powergreen supplied and installed a solar thermal water heating system for Qatar’s first low-energy demonstration home.
Project Qatar 2013: A Platform for Innovation
Participating for the fourth consecutive year, Powergreen showcased exclusive European solar technologies alongside leading solution providers. Over the four-day event, visitors explored the latest innovations in renewable energy and gained insights into the future of sustainable development in Qatar.
