Al Sadd Multipurpose Hall: Qatar’s First Solar Sports Facility

Al Sadd Multipurpose Hall becomes Qatar’s first solar-powered sports facility, supporting the country’s 2030 National Vision for sustainability.

A Breakthrough in Sustainable Sports Infrastructure

Qatar is advancing its sustainability goals with the development of Al Sadd Multipurpose Hall, the country’s first solar-powered sports facility. This project aligns with the 2030 National Vision for Sports, demonstrating Qatar’s commitment to renewable energy integration in major infrastructure.

Harnessing Solar Energy for Global Events

Set to host the 2015 Handball World Cup, the hall will showcase eco-friendly innovation on an international stage. To achieve its sustainability targets, Innovations Unlimited ME (now Powergreen) will supply and install an advanced roof-mounted photovoltaic (PV) system.

Cutting-Edge Solar Technology

Equipped with KIOTO’s high-performance PV panels, the facility will generate clean energy, reducing reliance on traditional power sources. This installation enhances energy efficiency while significantly lowering carbon emissions, contributing to Qatar’s renewable energy transition.

Leading the Future of Green Sports Venues

As Qatar continues preparing for major sporting events, Al Sadd Multipurpose Hall sets a new benchmark for sustainable stadiums. Its solar-powered infrastructure paves the way for future eco-conscious sports facilities, reinforcing the country’s role as a leader in environmental innovation.
